‘The Cav Presents’ nights are the in-house shows at The Cavendish Arms. We spent the past two and a bit years focusing on creating a safe, fun and rewarding environment for acts old and new, from the capital and beyond to come play. We spent a lot of time carefully curating shows that cut out the middle man (promoters!) and prioritize the experience of the artists and punters. We put a huge amount of effort into putting suitable acts together into a night that we hope can help build grassroots music communities.
From March 2024 this iteration of The Cav Presents will be coming to an end and will be operating under a new model and new curation.
At the moment we sell all our advance tickets through our ticketing partner, Eventim. We price these tickets at £8 + booking fee and then £10 on the door. We believe that this is a fair and equitable price to see what is usually 3 live acts, with professional sound and lighting. If you’ve come out to see just 1 act we reckon you’ll like the other 2 - we’ve curated things that way! We’ve found that this price point pays acts fairly and crew fairly and we’re very happy about that.
We do also understand that for some people right now this cost can be a tad challenging which is why we run a ‘nobody turned away for lack of funds policy’. We don’t believe that anyone should feel excluded from arts spaces based on income. If this is you, all you need to do is get in contact through the contact form and we’ll pop your name on the door and you’re welcome to pay whatever you feel is fair based on your income or you can come in for free - no questions asked!
We’re a little independent venue wrestling with rising costs and nasty developers but we think we’re doing something right. You can pop down to catch live music under ‘The Cav Pres’ banner on all Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays as well as the occasional Saturday. You can check our listings on the Eventim website, Instagram or Facebook.
The Cavendish Arms is a fully accessible venue with step-free stations within 15 minutes away at Stockwell and Nine Elms on the Northern and Victoria Lines. There is a small step into the main entrance of the pub, and double push doors. Venue can be accessed through pub or from outside without a step (small ramp). Accessible and gender neutral toilets in venue.
We may use flashing lights and smoke machines during shows - if this is an issue for you please use the contact form or speak to whoever is on the door for the show.
